Caroline Kennedy made a rare appearance at an event this week in support of King Charles and Queen Camilla.
The former U.S. ambassador attended a reception for The King’s Trust partnership with Greater Together at Christie’s in New York City on Wednesday, April 29, according to multiple sources who saw her. The gathering showcased the U.K.’s cultural impact on New York through the arts, sports and community initiatives, including the efforts of King’s Trust America to transform the lives of young people.
She did not pose for photos and kept a low profile at the event, though Town & Country reported her as part of the guest list.

Notoriously private, Caroline has stayed even further out of the public eye since the death of her 35-year-old daughter Tatiana Schlossberg.
Tatiana died on Dec. 30, 2025, after opening up about undergoing treatment for acute myeloid leukemia. She had announced her terminal diagnosis in an emotional essay for the New Yorker just a month prior, sharing her sorrow in adding more grief to the life of her mother, the daughter of President John F. Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy, and sister of the late John F. Kennedy Jr.
“For my whole life, I have tried to be good, to be a good student and a good sister and a good daughter, and to protect my mother and never make her upset or angry,” Tatiana wrote. “Now I have added a new tragedy to her life, to our family’s life, and there’s nothing I can do to stop it.”
The connection between the Kennedys and the royals has run deep for decades. Jack and Tatiana Schlossberg both accompanied their mother to Boston in 2022 when Prince William chose the city to host his second annual Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony. The environmental awards were inspired by President Kennedy’s famed 10-year goal of landing on the moon (known as Moonshot).
At the time, Caroline was serving as the U.S. ambassador to Australia under President Joe Biden, but she and her children joined Prince William and the president in Boston to give them a tour of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are visiting the coastal city of Boston to attend the second annual Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony, an event which celebrates those whose work is helping to repair the planet. During their trip, which will last for three days, the royal couple will learn about the environmental challenges Boston faces as well as meeting those who are combating the effects of climate change in the area.

Since Tatiana’s death, Caroline has made only a few private appearances as she supports her son, Jack’s campaign for Congress in New York. She and her husband, Edwin Schlossberg, gave a rare interview to CBS News Sunday Morning last month to talk about Jack’s run.
“Well, I really trust Jack. I trust his judgment. I mean, some of the other people have been preparing for this for years and years, but he came to this new. I mean, he’s the outsider in this race, actually,” she said, agreeing with Rocca that it’s an “ironic” fact. “And I think, you know, people might laugh when they hear that, but it’s actually true.”

Caroline did not discuss Tatiana in her interview with Sunday Morning, but Jack did in his own sit-down with Rocca. While speaking with the correspondent, the political candidate revealed that his late sister’s final words to him were, “You better win.”
